THE ORGANIZATION
The Certified Master Builder Corporation was formed in 1995 in Fort Worth, Texas by a group of builders, remodelors, industry suppliers and professionals who set certain criteria which would provide consumers with the information most often requested while also assisting them to evaluate and select a building / remodeling company.
CMBC represents builders, remodelors, sub-contractors, suppliers of materials and products as well as other professionals associated with the home construction / remodeling industry. The Certified Master Builder Corporation covers seventeen counties in Northern Texas which consist of: Tarrant, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Palo Pinto, Rockwell, Somerville, Wall and Wise.
The Governing body of CMBC is a 26 member Board of Directors. Eight of those members serve on the Executive Committee and are responsible for guiding the organization. Day-to-day management of the organization is the responsibility of a professional staff administered by the Executive Director.
ITS PURPOSE
To provide organized entities related to the residential construction industry, designations which indicate the entity has met criterion of the corporation and its program. Members who seek CMBC certification must meet specific criteria of experience, fiscal/business management and reference requirements. Maintaining certification includes extending a limited one-year warranty, building to specific performance standards, participation in dispute resolution requests, ongoing education and sold home registration. Every member must reapply for certification annually.
